Grove Town Board backs state forest protection, opposes solar

NY GROVE — Grove Town Board votes to oppose solar development on state and local land. The board unanimously backed Legislators Resolution 172-26 to protect New York state forests and wildlife from solar fields, and Supervisor Kenneth DeRitter, Councilmembers Michael Dieter, Peggy Gelser-Webb, and Kelly Mann scheduled a May 5 public hearing on a local law to restrict solar farms in Grove itself. The actions follow proposed solar projects on Route 70, including a feasibility project and a request from Green Peak to install solar panels on the route.
